About this coloring page
Owls come in browns, grays and creamy whites, so this page is a good chance to practice light and dark shades of one color. Color the wings darker than the tummy, and give the belly feathers a light tan.
The huge eyes are the best part: try yellow or orange around a dark center. The branch and leaves can be brown and green — or red, orange and yellow for a fall look. The moon in the corner looks great in pale yellow on a dark blue sky.
Things to talk about
- Owls are awake at night. What do they do while we sleep?
- Owls can turn their heads very far. How far can you turn yours?

Coloring tips for parents & teachers
- Print on regular paper for crayons and colored pencils, or thicker paper for markers.
- Younger kids? Let them color the big shapes first, then add details together.
- Free for home and classroom use — print as many copies as you need.
