About this coloring page

The triceratops’s big frill has a ring of oval shapes — a perfect spot for a bright pattern, like orange and yellow, or blue and green. Its three horns can be creamy white or pale yellow, and its body can be any color you choose.

The meadow is full of leafy trees, ferns and rocks. Mix yellow-greens and blue-greens for the plants, warm grays for the rocks, and add a red-orange glow to the volcano in the distance.

Things to talk about

  • “Triceratops” means “three-horned face.” Can you count the horns?
  • What do you think the frill was used for?

  • Print on regular paper for crayons and colored pencils, or thicker paper for markers.
