About this coloring page
Nobody knows exactly what color dinosaurs were, so your T-rex can be green, orange, purple or even striped. The big spots on its body are perfect for a second color, and a lighter belly makes it look friendly.
Behind the T-rex there’s a volcano puffing smoke — color the top orange and red, like lava, and the smoke in grays. Palm trees, ferns and rocks fill the prehistoric land; try several different greens so the plants don’t blend together.
Things to talk about
- T-rex had tiny arms. What do you think it used them for?
- What do you think the volcano sounds like?
- If dinosaurs lived today, which one would you want to meet?
Coloring tips for parents & teachers
- Print on regular paper for crayons and colored pencils, or thicker paper for markers.
- Younger kids? Let them color the big shapes first, then add details together.
- Free for home and classroom use — print as many copies as you need.
