About this coloring page

Long-neck dinosaurs (sauropods) were some of the biggest animals that ever lived, and they ate plants all day long. Color this gentle giant in earthy greens or browns, with darker oval spots on its back and a lighter belly.

The tall tree is split into big clusters of leaves, so you can use a few different greens — light on the top where the sun shines and darker underneath. Ferns, palm trees and rocks fill the forest floor, and mountains and clouds finish the sky.

Things to talk about

  • Why do you think this dinosaur has such a long neck?
  • How many leaves do you think it eats in a day?
  • What other animals have long necks today?

  • Print on regular paper for crayons and colored pencils, or thicker paper for markers.
  • Younger kids? Let them color the big shapes first, then add details together.
  • Free for home and classroom use — print as many copies as you need.
